Kiera's Birthday Party

My cousin's little princess turned 3 last week and Joe was sooo excited to go to her birthday party.
Such a good idea to have it at a splash pad/park. Joe was in and out of his shoes over and over because he was having so much fun at both spots.

Splash pad....close to his mom

Airplane ride...a little far from his mom

Joe loves Mickey Mouse and he was really excited when Jess gave him his ears and his awesome cupcake with 3 oreos to make Mickey Mouse. So cute!

The McKeon Clan Comes to AZ

For spring break last year, Julie, Abby, Kenzie, Cass, and Jimmy made the trek from Utah to San Francisco. This year they came to Arizona with Julie's sister and her kids and this time the husbands got to come along too. We were super excited that they were coming and got to see them a couple times. Here is Joe playing peek a boo with me and Cass. Yes love, you are adorable!

There was a pool/beach at their community place and it was a lot of fun, just a little cold. Joe loved it though, blue lips and chattering teeth!

At the house they were renting for the week there was this chair and Joe kept asking for a picture in it. This random chair didn't really go with the interior decorated look in the house but was still cool to him.
We had dinner over there one night and decided to steal Cass to have a sleep over with us. Joe loves having such fun cousins around and I love having the best help around! Thanks for the fun visit, as always they are never long enough!

Easter Weekend

Holidays are so much more fun having Joe around. Of course Steve loved my Easter egg hunts, but he didn't get as excited when I started the countdown weeks before. Joe would get on the phone with Grandma Sue and tell her he was sooo excited for Easter.
This was his surprised face when he saw what the Easter bunny brought him for Easter and was a little relieved to find out that the Easter bunny had already made his escape from our place.

For actual Easter my sweet cousin Jess invited us over for dinner and Kiera and Joe had a great time under the table giving each other hugs and hiding...

We let them just go at frosting sugar cookies and putting sprinkles on them all by themselves. It's a good thing we are family because there was a lot of double dipping, frosting and licking fingers and eating sprinkles. Thanks Jess, we love being with your family!

This picture is for Aunt Chels, who is obsessed with "kissy face" pictures. Joe is sending you a kiss with his sweet lips!

He tilted, didn't cross his eye, but tilted! I am gonna miss that tilt when it goes all the way away. Joe and his dad finally got haircuts on Sunday, he looks much older!

Before Sunday, we dyed Easter eggs, Joe's first time and he loved it!

We went to Heather and Ben's and did a quick little Easter egg hunt

Since Joe helped put the treats in them, he knew there was pretty good stuff inside so he only wanted to find a couple and then dump them out and start eating...yum yum

Joe was so excited to put the eggs in the color, then put them in another color, put stickers on, color them and do it all over again.

My boys coloring their eggs getting ready to dip. Steve had never seen the white crayons before, so we had to introduce them and he got pretty into it :)

Steve, Joe and Joe's best friend Jeff. It's so funny that Joe just adores older kids and adults and gets attached pretty quick. Jeff was visiting from Canada and Joe asked about him frequently during his stay. Joe wants to now go to "Canana" as soon as possible. Thanks Jeff, we love ya!

Joe with Jeff and Brittany (Steve's cousins) the night before they left. Isn't Brittany beautiful?! She is so fun, I love when her, Jeff and Ashley are around. Hopefully we will see them often since their dad bought a condo by us, or when she comes to Valencia to visit me :)

We are spontaneous!

Long story short, Steve's grandma was visiting St George from Calgary and I told Steve what a great opportunity it would be to go see her and his parents. I kept pushing him and pushing him to get work off and on Thursday around 6 we were on our way! Joe and I soooo needed a break from Phoenix. I was pretty homesick but am going to Valencia in a week and a half so I figured I shouldn't ask to go there two times in a month :) Plus I have come to love St George and have been begging to go there for a while. So Friday morning at 1:15 we arrived. Grandma treated us to a delicious McDonalds breakfast when we got up. Grandma Bev came home to surprise us during lunch and took Joe back to school with her for 3 hours! She said he was perfect and that he colored and played quietly with toys while her kids took a test and then she took him to an assembly. I was shocked because he was there during his nap time. He hasn't stopped talking about the bunnies and turtles he saw at her school.
While Steve was calling some friends to go golfing, he found out this lovely family was in town also. Jake, Kathryn, Morgan and 2 week old Jane were visiting from Las Vegas. I am so lucky that Steve's friends married such fun girls. I probably get as excited as Steve does when we find out who is in town. Sometimes I just feel like I need my "Kathryn fix." We went to Pizza Factory with them for lunch and then went home to take a nap. Joe got to meet baby Jane after naps and thought she was beautiful. We then went to Uncle Bruce & Aunt Susan's for some pizza and on the way home we rented Slumdog Millionaire, awesome movie and Steve taught me how to drive a stick! Yes, he is extremely patient!

Saturday morning we watched conference, Steve and his dad went golfing with Jake and his dad, and Bev, grandma and I had Bajios! While sweet Joe was sleeping I escaped to a yummy lunch at 25 on Main. Kathryn was surprised that I love treats so much but had never been there, they have really yummy cupcakes and I wanted to try every one! Saturday afternoon Steve golfed with his dad and Uncle Bruce. Joe and I joined in the walk for the last 2 holes. Joe loved it and grandpa helped him putt in a few.

We watched some conference Sunday and then got on our way, hit traffic and took 8 hours to get home! Two days wasn't long enough, but I'll take it! We had so much fun and I needed a break and got it. My in laws were so sweet to take us last minute. Thanks Bev for watching Joe so much and taking him to the park. Love you guys!
